Alyssa Giammaria is a vocalist and composer based in Toronto. Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Alyssa has been involved in the arts from when she was four. She grew up performing in musicals and studying Royal Conservatory of Music piano and voice until pursuing jazz at her hometown college, Mohawk. Since then she has studied at The New School in Manhattan and has recently completed her master’s of music at the University of Toronto. During her master’s she has had the opportunity to write and conduct for several of the University’s ensembles, and has arranged and performed with their artists in residence including Terri Lyne Carrington with The Univesity of Toronto Jazz Orchestra, and Rich Brown with U of T’s 12tet.

She released her debut EP, “Moments” in 2021 with a seven piece band of her own compositions and arrangements, and released her first full length original album with her quintet, “In Time” in September 2023. When Alyssa is not performing her own music she is part of several other projects, including duo collaborations with pianist Jen Lo. Outside of performing she is an arranger and music editor for classical and jazz projects in Toronto.
